A few quotes from Dotson on this visit to SMU on stampede. It is listed as a free article.

Bringing him in during Fall break was either a major tactical error, or he wasn't going to visit unless they could slid him in that weekend. Most publications had him visiting after Louisville, if at all, and the UW visit being last weekend. Half the team being gone is pretty bad form.

Either way, nice article. Kudos to ponystampede.com, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd say the 2 favorites for his services are coming up.

Why was Russell there during Fall break?
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Good stuff. Dotson is the 2 that we need......hopefully the combination of Dallas, the Crum Center, a quality education and Coach Doherty will sway him to the Hilltop.

with an assist to the Jet, also from Seattle who didn't go to UW.

Again going with the long ride home element: if he doesn't go to UW, look at what he has to do to go home and visit. BTR-DFW-Seattle. SDF-DFW-Seattle. He's a tall guy. Those are Eagle flights from Baton Rouge & Louisville. Not to mention layovers, canceled flights, delays. He can go nonstop from here...or drive down Mockingbird and hop on a SWA greyhound with maybe one stop. C'mon dude.

I dunno, I was kind of joking about that Saturday at the game.
At least that weekend we had an excuse for such a poor showing!
"Usually, this place is packed and the students are going crazy during the games, those SMU kids sure do love their football, but it is fall break....HEY look the crum center!"

I do wish the entire team could have been there.

We therefore probably thought it would be best to bring Russell in on the same weekend. Russell can get plenty of exposure to SMU and our campus, but not always with a top 100 hoops recruit considering attending SMU as well.

LSU message board has claimed that Dotson is deciding b/w them and Louisville (sorry no link, this is second hand). However, fans are speculating that he may not hold a "commitable offer" to LSU, due to the pretty tight numbers on that team. Pitino could be the main competition here....let's have Dia speak to Dotson about why he chose the ponies.

I think he had a good weekend. When I spoke to him on the vard, he had mentioned that being so close he had been to SMU before.
