Houston Game Predictions

Postby sbsmith » Fri Oct 17, 2008 11:37 am

We're getting a lot better but I still don't think we're good enough to knock off a good team like Houston. I think we'll lose 45-28, but our offense will continue to make strides.

There are a lot of people thinking SMU will win versus Houston, hopefully they're right.

first time i've thought we'll probably win outside of TX State. smu 63 houston 60. we hold them under 600 yards total offense, only 1 interception and they turn it over 4 times somehow

We've lost 18 of our last 20, and the two w's came against a 1AA school and a school even lower than that, NTSU.

Not time to start projecting us to win. Yet.

I think we have a greater than 50% chance of winning at least one more game.

This one is as good as any

Sorry

Past years don't count!

I didn't even know SMU played Football last year :P

As far as I'm concerned we have only lost 5 games in a row and TT, TCU, and Tulsa have only lost one game between them (Thanks you stikin' FROGS!!  )

I'm sure JJ and the rest of the Ponies are with me on this one!

UH 44
SMU 27

I think Bryce Bell in particular is the type of running back who will cause a lot of problems for SMU.

Our defense played great last game. The biggest improvement is obviously our tackling, I actually saw things that resembled tackles!

As for our offense, I'm not feeling too great about Mitchell. Sure, he has a hell of an arm but he should have broken into some sort of groove by now. He is still lacking accuracy in the long passes. Throws stupid interceptions that most of the time come from his lack of judgement. I understand he is a freshman but any 'potentially' good QB should have shown some improvement thus far.

As for tonight's game, if we can play solid D and eliminate the crushing mistakes(see: 4th and 20 for TD) then we can beat the Kitties. Mitchell needs to buckle down and start getting some sort of comfort with his WR which seems to be the problem. We could be in for our second win of this season.

For some reason, this season doesn't feel as crushing as the previous years. June Jones has improved our game and I personally can't wait for next year.
Don't try to confuse me with what you call facts, my mind is already made up.
