He wasn't going to get any other offers but glad you are happy he is hurt....

Bet your happy Cayse Joubert has been out for most of the season also.

Why do you feel Padron would not have gotten any other offers?

HFVictory what was Joubert's injury-I knew he's had some injuries in the offseason but haven't seen anything that he's been hurt during the regular season. But the stat page says he has only played 3 games so I guess he has.

BTW I caught just a little bit of the Ducanville game last Nite and although I don't think Joubert wasn't credited with a catch last nite, he did in fact make a big catch. Duncanville threw out of its endzone and hit Joubert for a 39 yard bomb. However, Duncanville was called for holding in its own endzone resulting in a Safety.

I watched that game and Joubert had a couple of catches but dropped two huge sure TD passes where he was wide open, and that cost them any chance at winning the game. He was their 3rd or 4th WR and they said he only had like 3 catches coming into last night.

Maybe we should recruit Padron's backup too as he lead SLC on a rout in the first week after Padron's injury

Carroll backup QB David Piland did his part in his first varsity start, accounting for 377 total yards and five TDs. But he didn't have to be a hero with the Carroll defense playing up to its potential

not only does he have the physical tools that JJ looks for, but he comes from a technical passing offense. i think this was a great commitment

That would be quite a lure to get him away from us, I really hope that he's got it in his head that he's June's heir apparent. Didn't Chase get some playing time as a true freshman? Of course Padron would have to beat out Blane Gabbert, which isn't going to happen. So maybe this won't be such a big threat to us.

Does anyone think that Padron will challenge BLM next year?
the real question: Does he have an arm like Steve Austin?

Well, I think we can all rest assured that JJ did a good job evaluating Padron. Now I'm curious to see how his career stacks up against OU signee Drew Allen. JJ had both in camp but didn't offer Allen even though he was much more well regarded than Allen.

Understood. But even there it might not be as straightforward a comparison as it might seem. He *could* be a superior QB, but is Allen a JJ type of QB? Does he better fit than Padron what JJ looks for in a QB?

Great points. JJ may look for different virtues that make a good qb in his system. Still, it will interesting to follow how their careers develop. Drew Allen was on record saying he wanted an SMU offer. At this point, I don't think I'd trade Padron for anyone.

the factor that so many forget is that EVERY OU QB is probably rated 4-5^-they signed the No. 4 QB in the Country last year according my Scout recruiting magazine that just arrived. At places like UT, USC and other top schools great prospects might never get off the bench. Doesn't mean that they can't play. If Jevon Sneed hadn't transferred would he be considered a "miss". How about Mallett at Arkansas or Troy Aikman at UCLA. Hundreds of other examples. Shawnbrey McNeil? Washout or Superstar?

should have transferred down instead of transferring to USC where he was fighting with the No. 1 QB recruit in the Country and another 6.0 4 star who ended up transferring. USC gets a Top 3 ot Top 5 National QB recruit just about every year for about the last decade. Doesn't mean he couldn't have been CUSA Player of the Year.

Very true and has to be considered in any comparison between Drew Allen and Padron (and a great reason to go to SMU if you're a 4 star who wants to rewrite the record books instead of sitting for 4 years to possibly play your 5th)
