This is an important statement. At the end of the game, we couldn't run a dive to run clock becuase we have a 250 lb center. We have to run off guard, off tackle. Next year, kids grow up, get Enright back, and we will run the ball a little better regardless of who is in the backfield.

Enright is a senior.

I think he will be back. He is eligible for a medical hardship and is working on a graduate degree if I recall.

academically, perhaps. Roster says he's a junior, though.

Right - senior academically, junior athletically.

I wouldn't say that to or around him in quite that way...

Just looking at the Roster we have:

Butler and Lee (good combo IMO).
Former Defensive Back Ryan Armstrong (who seems to have grown 2.5 inches since 2006) is another small fella. http://arizonastate.scout.com/a.z?s=43& ... id=2549596
Ben Goldthorpe from Denton Ryan is apparently being converted to RB from High School DE. Hopefully his 5 second 40 yard dash time was a typo or the result of bad sushi or something. http://texastech.scout.com/a.z?s=188&p= ... id=2437702
Then there's Clay Wilson, who is another bigger, slower gentleman. http://scoutcombines.scout.com/a.z?s=45 ... id=1295075

There really doesn't look like a lot on the bench once you get past Butler, unless Goldthorpe or Wilson are faster/quicker than their combine times I don't know what we're going to do about having any kind of depth there. And given the M*A*S*H Unit we have out there this year I'd hate to think about next.

The ex qb Willis was the leading rusher last year he can run. Why not use
him as a running back at 6.1 and 190lb he could take the hits.

Maybe I missed him, but I don't even recall seeing Goldthorpe dressed the last couple of games.

I think June uses his RB more as a blocker but it would be nice to add a receiving threat out of the backfield too. Tech's RBs can get 100 receptions a year. Looks like they want to use Lee in that role.

a couple of years for our young OL to mature and the RB will be less necessary as a blocker, IMO

I would love for us to get Bryan Head from Colleyville Heritage. The kid is great out of the backfield, can block, and runs the ball well. Can run by you or through you.

But he does have 4 catches for 19 yards that is great out of the backfield, for a series

Afraid not. Just have a kid in the school and go to all the games. I have been watching him on the varsity team since he was a sophomore.

Senior Season
Rushes 119 Yardage 716
Catches 49 Yardage 598

My son was right about this board. We don't support one another. We try to rip each other apart.
