2004 recruits

Postby HorsePower » Sun Mar 02, 2003 7:01 pm

So are HS juniors allowed to attend/watch spring workouts? Or just come on designated days, when they're invited, like the Red/Blue game?

Incidentally, I heard there's a real drop-off in talent (at least for next year's seniors) at Highland Park, and that we'll be hard-pressed to keep open the pipeline that has included Karrington, Eidson, Berry and Wolcott. Is this true, or just the grumblings of someone whose team lost to HP? (I got it from aa fan of Wylie HS)

I think you are correct but the juniors and sophomores to be are fantastic. There is a sophomore to be quarterback that is going to be big time if he stays healthy and continues to improve. He dressed for all of the playoff games.

The pipe line you mention for next year has many holes and suspect solutions. There are no clear D-1 candidates that are obvious like the Eidson/karrington year when the school had 12 playing in college. Or even this past season and the likes of Berry etal. HP always seems able to reload with type "A" types and these same boys that will be seniors and juniors are undefeated in reg. season against regular opponents. So all is relative. The real cream coming up is next years sophmore class. It was mentioned the Stafford boy who is as good and probably could be better than Webb (the one that got away). Also the class is filled with future stars which look better than the special 2001 class. Names like Rowsey,Felt,Dickenson,Karrington,Bennett and a whole lot more with depth. So in three years the program may have another record year for D-1 and college talent..

Can you fill us in with first names, positions, etc on those kids (Rowsey, Felt, Dickenson, Karrington, Bennett) you mentioned?

And is that Sam Bennett? As in Coach Bennett's son?
