SMU (1-7) at Navy (4-3), 2:30 p.m. Saturday (CBS College)

Line: Navy by 12.

Series Record: SMU leads 7-5.

Last Meeting: 2002, Navy 38-7.

What's at Stake

SMU, who has a 17-game losing streak to FBS teams, is coming off back-to-back narrow losses at home to No. 22 Tulsa and Houston. Navy is coming off a 42-21 setback to No. 17 Pittsburgh and needs a win to stay on pace for its sixth straight bowl appearance.

Key Matchup

The contrast of offensive styles is worth watching. With quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell (2,277 passing yards, 21 TDs) operating coach June Jones' run and shoot attack, SMU passes the ball more than 40 times a game. Navy rushes for more than 300 yards per game with its triple option offense.

Players to watch

SMU: WR Emmanuel Sanders is second in the nation with 823 receiving yards. He scored twice in SMU's 44-38 loss to Houston last weekend.

Navy: RB Shun White leads the Midshipmen, who have the nation's second-best ground attack, with 768 yards rushing.

Facts & Figures

Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo played for Jones in 1983. Jones was Hawaii's quarterbacks coach at the time. ... The Mustangs have lost 13 straight road games. Their last victory away from home came Sept. 30, 2006 against Tulane. ... Navy QB Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada (left hamstring) has missed the last two games and is questionable.

We'll undoubtedly give up many yards on the gound, but how good i their secndary? I think if we get in a shootout, we can win.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

The weather forecast (as of noon on Friday) is not conducive to a passing game with rain and winds of 20-25MPH.

take away Henderson's gamewinning kickoff return TD vs Tulane, and it's even worse. And that would include a UNT road loss.
