Ponies chasing top-flight WRSMU reportedly has really strong interest in WR George Walker (6-3, 190, 4.4) of Houston (Westbury), Texas. He's good good size and speed, and is a very productive player for Chris Cunningham's old high school. At the moment, he has SMU on an early list that also includes Iowa, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA and TCU
I really shouldn't drink and type.
Re: Ponies chasing top-flight WRNow you're talkin' - Walker is a great player. He'll be hard to get, because everyone will want him. Maybe if we get the Comet after him?
Re: Ponies chasing top-flight WRRivals seems to think he's close to committing to Texas. Hope they're wrong.
Re: Ponies chasing top-flight WRThey are not wrong! Insiders is reporting the same thing. Don't worry guys -- Bennett will find us some good ones!
Re: Ponies chasing top-flight WRWalker needs to follow The Comet to SMU!
Re: Ponies chasing top-flight WRToo late - he committed Friday to Texas.
Re: Ponies chasing top-flight WRNot fair. Texas just got the state's top WR. The kid from Burnet. Can't remember his name but the Austin American Statesman just reported he had committed to Texas.
How many top WR's do they need? Especially since they are going back to a running attack now that Simms is gone. [This message has been edited by SMUstang (edited 03-29-2003).]
Re: Ponies chasing top-flight WRI'm not sure they're going back to a running attack. Chance Mock is a decent passer, and Vincent Young is going to be great. And they have tons of good receivers down there. A name to remember: Robert Timmons of Flower Mound Marcus. Unbelievable athlete.
