O-lineman favoring SMU

Postby Lotus » Fri Apr 04, 2003 12:11 pm

Logan Hostin, a 6-2, 265-pound (4.9 in the 40) guard who lives in Arlington but goes to school in Mansfield, has SMU at the top of his list, at least so far. He's also showing interest in Auburn, Mizzou, Duke and Baylor.

Sounds a little small for an offensive lineman. Has anyone seen this kid? Can he get bigger? How good a player is he?

I'd rather have that J.D. Quinn guy. He sounds impressive.

If Hostin can add size and strength while maintaining that quickness, he should be OK. Otherwise, I agree - he's a little small for a college OL.

MAke him a D-Line guy if he has a bad attitude.

Sometimes High school fullbacks make good DT's.

Last I saw, he was listed at only 5-11, 245 with a 5.01 in the 40. Sounds like standard number inflation is going on with coaches. I imagine if these new numbers are accurate, the SMU coaches probably won't have much interest, except maybe as a walk-on.

Is this kid shrinking?
We need bigger linemen than that!
