Is there a list of High School Fullbacks

Postby BUS » Thu Apr 10, 2003 4:08 pm

Where can I go and get a list of the High School fullbacks. Not just to ones that project as college fullbacks but some of the huge, a little slow ones?
Just curious.

This list is far from complete, of course, but here are some of the top fullbacks in Texas.

Tim Ball -- 6-0, 210, 4.6 -- Lewisville (Hebron)
Darrell Citizen -- 5-9, 205, 4.5 -- ldine (Eisenhower)
Matt Gardner -- 6-2, 235, 4.7 -- Andrews
Trae Grimes -- 6-0, 225, 4.8 -- Round Rock (Westwood)
Joel Henson -- 5-11, 210, 4.7 -- Deer Park
Chris Johnson -- 6-1, 215, 4.6 -- Lewisville
Jacoby Jones -- 5-11, 195, 4.6 -- Bangs
Anthony McDade -- 6-1, 205, 4.5 -- Tomball
Brandon Montgomery -- 5-10, 225, 4.7 -- Duncanville
Derrick Walker -- 5-11, 230, 4.8 -- Fort Worth (Polytechnic)

Thank you for the help. What I am looking for is the fullback that is 6-2 or 6-3 and over 250 but wont be good enough for that position after graduation. I have seen some of those type players get bulked up to 280 plus and be good D-linemen. I am just turning over a different rock.

the problem with your idea is that rarely do HS Coaches put their best athlete's at FB especially if they have the size you are looking for. Generally, you'd be better off trying to recruit the taller, quicker LB or DE and put him on a weight program. This is USUALLY how SMU finds its Defensive Lineman with Croy and Birdwell being among the few exceptions.

Thanks for the info. I just remember a friend of mine ( Snyder Tx. ) that went to TT as a fullback and ended up going to Chi. Bears at lineman. Quick and big - not fast. He had told me that that works for some fullbacks without real good speed.

Darrell Citizen from Eisenhower would be a Tailback at most schools. If you ever want to see an awesome rushing performance, watch the Aldine Eisenhower vs. North Shore tape from last year's playoffs. Citizen was unstoppable. He has great speed. I know it says 4.5, but I've never seen him get caught. He ran away from the North Shore secondary on two long touchdown runs.
