Ha! Ha! SI Projection:TCU/Rice in Ft Worth Bowl

Postby Stallion » Wed Oct 29, 2008 6:37 pm

A SWC Classic for Private School Championship-that would be precious. They deserve better but funny nonetheless. What people don't focus on enough is the anti-competitive monopolistic restraints resulting from the entire Bowl System not just the BCS Bowls.

They have Vanderbilt playing Tulsa in the Liberty. Vanderbilt is trying to figure out where win #6 is going to come from.

Although I would gladly change places with them, they are on the verge of a bigger collapse than we had a couple of years ago.

No doubt...the biggest issue is it's BCS or bust. And that sux for all non-bcs schools.

HA HA! its not very funny. when we go undefeated, we'll be lucky to get that. isn't it time all the non bcs schools withdrew from the ncaa, formed our own with our own tv contracts and broke up this stupid cartel?

and before you laugh, so did a lot of people when the old AFL started. bet lamar hunt could give us a little advice.

Have not seen or heard from the Magnolia League guy in awhile. Or we should accept Mark Cuban's idea of the pay for pay college football league

and when we refuse to play them excep in a real college super bowl game, let them have fun beating each other up without any serfs to whip three or four ooc games every year.

you gotta think bigger than the magnaolia league guy. we would have to start with all the bigger non bcs conferences joining: mwc with utah, byu. big east. one or more of the service academies, cusa, all the wac. all the "others".

it would have to start by selling the championship series to a network--and there are lots of em now. how many espns are there?

the afl did it. "the rest" could, too, if only there were a few university presidents who weren't afraid of the word "competition'.

The same writer is picking Tulane for the New Orleans Bowl, despite the fact that Tulane is 2-5, and has an unfavorable schedule (remaining games against LSU, Tulsa and Houston).

Quick note: the Big East is a BCS conference.

If the Frogs defeat Utah they'll go to a BCS Bowl.

If they lose to the Utes they will go to Las Vegas

to play a team from the PAC-10. 8)
