Tulsa-ArkansasWho Wins?
I actually don't think Arkansas is as bad as they were at the start of the year. They beat Auburn at Auburn, narrowly lost to Ole Miss at home, and played Florida tough for about 3 quarters. Their star RB might rush for 300 yards against Tulsa's porous defense. Arkansas is a tough place to play. If Tulsa loses, then Conf-USA looks pretty lousy. If they win, they were supposed to win against a perceived poor SEC team. Me personally, I don't think there is such a thing as a poor team in the SEC. They are all very competitive.
Re: Tulsa-Arkansas
I agree. Tulsa will have their hands full. Ole Miss just barely escaped with a win last week, and I think Ole Miss would beat Tulsa handily. The question will be whether Tulsa can score enough points to win ... tough to do against any SEC speed-driven defense, no matter whether a "poor" team or not.
The Beloved Razorbacks lost to Old Miss because of the very poor officiating. I know because there have been countless articles in the local rag devoted to the sad state of officating in the game against Old Miss. Ask any Beloved Razorback fan and they will be happy to tell you how a bad call screwed their chances to beat Nutt and the Rebels.
If Tulsa wins, it will be because of the poor officiating. The Beloved Razorbacks barely beat some pretty weak teams early on (Western Ill. and ULM). Yes, they beat Auburn after Auburn had their season gutted by close loses to LSU and Vandy. I hope Tulsa wins to help bring attention to CUSA. However, unless Tulsa can win by about 40 points, the Beloved Razorbacks fans will blame the loss on the officials.
"Here's a quick look at some of the biggest story lines Scouts Inc. will focus on in Week 10:
• No. 18 Tulsa is at Arkansas and the Golden Hurricanes' offense averages more yards per game than any other FBS team, thanks in large part to QB David Johnson. Johnson, who has the highest passer rating in the FBS, has completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 2,661 yards and 32 touchdowns with just nine interceptions. He reads defenses well, gets rid of the ball quickly and puts good zip on his passes. Meanwhile, the Razorbacks lost starting FS Elton Ford to a season-ending neck injury and true sophomore CBs Ramon Broadway and Isaac Madison are both inconsistent first-year starters. In addition, Johnson should have time to locate the open man considering Tulsa has done a good job of protecting him and Arkansas has struggled to mount a consistent pass rush. ![]() Tulsa QB David Johnson is a big reason why Tulsa's offense is among the best in the nation and he could have another big day against Arkansas." Unfortunate our "D" was so defenseless! SMU - IT'S YOUR TURN

I am afraid that Arkansas is going to run at will against Tulsa. (Why they do not tkae will out, I do not know.) That said, Malzahn will be the "head coach" of inspiration this week. He is, in my opinion, as good an offensive mind as there is in the country and he will pull out every trick this week.
In respect to ponyte's post, I almost called into a local talk show this week after hearing numerous calls about how the officials stole the game from them with Ole Miss. I wanted to see if it was devastating enough for them to finally stop crying about the pass interference call against them vs. SMU in 1981. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
I was at the Ole Miss game and from where I set I don't know if it was a good call or a bad call. We were 6 rows from the top and if there had been a pre-game fly over we would have had to duck. If Arkansas is to win this game they will have to over come a very bad QB and no receivers. I think that Bo and our receivers could start for them. My son who is a freshman up there is already fitting in with the Hogs, because he told me right after the game that the refs screwed them.
I think Tulsa takes them. They'll load up the box and dare the Pigs to pass and get some turnovers. Tulsa will if given the opportunity run up the score on the Hogs. And because I loathe the Pigs almost as much as I loathe the Whorns, I hope they do.
OK then - no need to play the game. I hope Hawg High beats Tulsa by 70. Folks up here are acting like Tulsa is going to be moving to the NFL soon. It's nauseating. At least I get the joy of reminding all of my Tulsa-fan friends that their world-beater team barely escaped SMU with a win...
