Public acknowledgment of how wrong I was about the dust raiders.
Impressive performance.

If they win out it makes our chances of making a BCS bowl much better this year.
It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.

I said to my Red Raider buddy at the beginning of the year that Graham Harrell was my Heisman pick. I was feeling pretty wrong about it over the last couple weeks, but I'm thinking I might still have a chance. I have succsefully, pre-season, picked the Heisman winner 7 of the last 8 years.... still all things considered, my outside the box pick of Harrell.... I don't think it will stand up.
Because somehow, I see the dastardly Burnt Orange in that national title game. Somehow. They've just been too good.

It's a shame that the Big 12 South is such a powerhouse this year. Hard to believe that either Texas, OU, or Tech will not get to go to a BCS bowl this year. They are all way more deserving than whoever comes out of the ACC, Big East

does anyone know how it works if Tech loses to OU in 2 weeks? Texas, OU and Tech would all have 1 loss and would all have lost to eachother. From what I've read, it would go by whoever is highest in the BCS standings the week after conference play is finished. Is this correct?

Yeah, posted in NC thread. It is the 4th of the criteria for 3 way tie breaker. To determine the Big 12 South representative for the conference championship, they will use this:
First, Head to Head (all 2-1)
2nd, Record against other division teams (all one loss)
3rd is record against the 4th place team in division (all Ws)
4th is the Current BCS standings after the regular season
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

Tech will lose next week - this was their big game for the year and they won't have the ability to get up for OSU and OU in the next few weeks to the same level. Texas blew a great opportunity to win late, but it's not going to put Tech into the title game.
And how f'ing stupid are the Tech fans rushing the field - TWICE - with 1 second remaining on the clock even after announcements not to? I was really hoping to see Texas run that kickoff back just to see the look on the faces of their fans.

I think that would have been pure greatness - seeing the idiots running around yelling GET YOUR GUNS UP costing them the game

How ironic.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

oh ok. in that case, it wasn't funny and you don't understand the definition of ironic.
