Now doesn't our game against Tech...

Postby George S. Patton » Sun Nov 02, 2008 2:17 pm

...put into perspective what we were up against out there in September?

I still laugh at the people who were ticked because we should have played better?

Were some of you in Fantasyland watching that game?

Just be glad we were their first game of the season or it would have been much worst. Having said that...our lowly defensive line did almost as good a job against Tech's big O-line as Texas did, but then it was their first game of the season. Before some of you get your panties in a wad, I'm not holding any visions of grandour in that statement. We aren't even remotely close to Texas defensively.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

doesn't change anything. everyone knew Tech was a very good team who was going to destroy us. i don't know how many people had realistic hope that we would do anything but get dominated by them.

PK - good preemptive strike. I can see the posts now - "Are you compare hapless SMU with the greatness of Texas and TCU. SMU hasn't won against a BCS school ever and Texas is the greatest football team of all time."
An atheist is a guy who watches a Notre Dame-SMU football game and
doesn't care who wins.

Usually we're their first game of the year but this year, we were their third game.
