hmm Darrius contributed mostly running the ball-4 carries for 64 yards including a 5 yard TD. Also had 1 catch for 8 yards. Hightower was up 31-0 at Half and won 41-0 over Dulles.

He is one of the commits, that we will have to keep our fingers crossed, until he signs.

New Darrius Johnson video on Rivals-very impressive. He also is very impressive as a Punt Returner where we have struggled this year. We really need to hang on to him. I still say he's bigger than 5-10.

Our only struggle on punt returns this year is that we have not yet forced a team to punt more than twice and in our only win the team never punted. The one return that McCann had was very exciting (brought back with a penalty). Best of my recollection is 3 punts returned (not fair caught) and 2 of them were brought back by penalty. Our defense is the biggest draw back to our punt returns.

Has our blocking on punts and kickoffs been up to par with what we thought Ganz could produce. I know he is an amazing coach on ST so maybe its just who he has to work with...

Our special teams have been consistant (in a good way) and that is the most important thing. It would be nice to get some big plays but at least we are not giving up big plays. We have blocked 2 or 3 extra points and scored on one of them. We have been in position to block one or 2 punts and just not stretched out properly. I think they will get there on that. Ganz is proven. Again, in my opinion, the lack of the defensive ability to stop the opposition is the biggest problem we have on punt returns.

Let's hope our coaches don't do this. But what so ridiculous about this attitude as a fan? Want Alex to bake him some cookies? Schedule some in home visits to confirm the commit?

It's a fatalist attitude. It's crap. When we have a supposedly pretty good recruit, some of you are wound up in your own pathetic pity party, that we are incapable of keeping good recruits. And then you always follow up with the traditional "woe is us attitude.''
You guys did the same with with De'Von Bailey two years ago.
It shows no confidence in this EXPERIENCED coaching staff of doing its job of procuring this commitment.
Fine, you guys can take the attitude we'll never get any or keep any good recruits, we'll just sit around and suck for 20 more years and continue to feel sorry for ourselves.
Whatever! This is loser thinking. I want no part of this.
It's BS.

That's right, Fan Pragmatism is the cause of the past 20 years, not the result lol.

I get your point, Patton, and agree in principle.

couldn't find his full statistics but Darrius Johnson did score the first TD for Hightower on a 28 yard TD catch in a 38-0 victory over Houston Travis. Hightower finishes the regular season undefeated at 8-0(two cancellations). .

Darius visited SMU with his mother this weekend and, evidentally, was quite impressed. He has recently picked up an offer from Boston College, but it sounds like he is more committed to SMU than ever after meeting Coach Jones and seeing the campus. His mother was also quite impressed. Meeting Terrell Owens also didn't hurt.

Darrius Johnson didn't show up again in the summary stats and scoring summary from Houston Chronicle-hmm second week in a row of limited touches I hope he isn't hurt. Anyway Hightower won big to remain undefeated 9-0 Hightower 59 Clear Creek 17.
