Patterson.....I feel is gone from FW this year

Apparently Tuberville's contract has an astronomical buyout. As angry as Auburn fans might be, they aren't going to dump Tommy, yet. And if he beats the Red Elephants, all will be forgiven. That said, if he got a tempting offer from a non-SEC school, it might be a good year for him to leave. Perhaps to Clemson as well. Patterson might work for Clemson or Washington. I don't see him at Tennessee. I don't know, Tennessee is going to have a pretty hard search. They expect a lot, but don't have the high school system to support their perceived success. I think the Northwestern coach might get a look from some schools as well.

It is beyond me how Gary Patterson is not the frontrunner for some of the premiere coaching jobs out there. The guy has been winning consistently for several years in a state where he has to compete for recruits with Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, LSU, etc. Patterson has certainly done enough to be worthy of a BCS conference job.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Not quite. Remind me again how many 10+ win seasons Bower had? Yeah, different class entirely.

I guess I should have known you would have gone there. Equating Bower and Patterson is not the point. The point is (i) the next opportunity is not always going to be there; and (ii) eventually, people will always get tired of your bit.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

There are TCU fans that want to get rid of Patterson; they think you can get somebody better to come in and get you over the hump. I don't know how representative of the fanbase those fans are, but they are out there.

Fitzgerald was an All American LB on the Northwestern team that turned it around and went to the Rose Bowl, and was handpicked to step in after the tragedy with his predecessor. I don't see him going anywhere.

Brady Hoke anyone? I could also see Tenn going with Charlie Strong. If Duke has SMU's luck, Cutcliffe will bolt after bringing things around a little better. Then again, maybe Kevin White pulls a Weiss and gives Cutcliffe an extension and more $.

The fans that count are on their board of trustees. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Someone smoked a lot of crack before compiling that list. At least two-thirds of those listed wouldn't even answer the phone.

Wow - aim high. He probably could be named Chief Spelunker in a portable bathroom at a construction site, but nobody wants that title, either.

What an auspicious title. Who their right mind would want it?

The King of Lubbock or Waco.

Or King of College Station.

That has always been a frustration of mine.

SMU could MORE than compete with anyone in this state.

Look at the cities...Austin, Dallas and Houston versus Waco, Lubbock and College Station...what a disparity. (Fort Worth, btw, leans to the College Station camp).

Houston, while a more desirable city, has Coog High.

We should have been toe-to-toe with A&M as the 2nd best program in Texas.

If you LOWER the academic standards for the players perhaps, but you can't do both!

I think they are referring to an undefeated season and a BCS game.

B+. Had it been accompanied with the appropriate visual aid, it would have been an A.

BTW, undefeated and BCS game? They don't ask for much in cowtown do they?

Not to horn in on your bit JTStang, but I agree with your grade and reasoning. Visual Aid would have made for a solid A at least, depending on the pic.

BTW, we'll take BCS game this year and Undefeated and National Champs next year
