Curious to know where you get your information?
Be assured that it is unadulterated BS!

Directly from TCU fans who have told me explicitly they want to get rid of Patterson because they think he's taken the team as far as he can.

lol, as far as they can go? they would go undefeated this year if they hadnt played number 1 OU. They are a non-bcs school who averages 10 wins a year. Who else would they hire to take them farther? The only way they will go farther is if they join a bigger conference or the mountain west becomes a bcs conference. even USC loses a game every year...

not to mention they are a non bcs school with a loss and still may end up in a bcs game!

To be quite honest, if this is as far as we go, with several 10 win seasons under our belts- I'll take it for the rest of Patterson's coaching life. I think recruiting currently portends even better results, but having lived thru the 80's, I'll take this all day every day.

What an auspicious title. Who their right mind would want it?
The King of Lubbock or Waco.
Or King of College Station. That has always been a frustration of mine. SMU could MORE than compete with anyone in this state. Look at the cities...Austin, Dallas and Houston versus Waco, Lubbock and College Station...what a disparity. (Fort Worth, btw, leans to the College Station camp).Houston, while a more desirable city, has Coog High. We should have been toe-to-toe with A&M as the 2nd best program in Texas.
I agree! What city can compete with Dallas, with its disfunctional Public School system, bankrupt school budget, highest crime rate in the state, city councilmen indicted for fraud, often called pothole capital of the southwest, highest property tax rate in the area. SMU is fortunate that it lives in its little enclave, University Park, which maintains its purity from Big D. But occasionally, students have to leave the twenty-five block area of University Park, and then what? Dallas!. Lord, I hate to say it, but give me Waco anytime, even Lubbock.

My very good sources close to the program laugh @ speculation of him leaving. He is very happy & comfortable in Ft. Worth.
He has a loyal staff & they are loyal to him. If they have a bad year
& lose 5 games he doesn't have to worry about alumni or admin head hunting for his job.
Great chance they finish in the top 10 this year if they beat Utah.

TCU has done such a remarkable job of bringing their program where it needs to be. Don't understand why some of their posters feel the need to come here and talk trash. I have posted on the Killerfrog site but only positive things congratulating them on their success. It must be something that happened to these guys in their childhood.
