Not sure who that is, but overall Frog fans support SMU except for one game. We have had a good run, but it could all end tomorrow. We have a great recruiting class and much to look forward to, but if CGP leaves I am sure it falls apart.

I have found that just when you start to gloat to others thats when it seems to all start to crumble. I would hope CGP realizes how good he has it at TCU and sticks around, but am realistic that coaches want to achieve at the highest level and if they feel they could get there faster or more often elsewhere, they will jump no matter how good they have it currently.

You are kidding, right? The fans over here do not support SMU. And the gloating has been going on as long as TCU has been winning.

But occasionally, students have to leave the twenty-five block area of University Park, and then what? Dallas!. Lord, I hate to say it, but give me Waco anytime, even Lubbock.

Amen. While I live in Dallas, it is the most disfunctional city in the US. For some reason, Ft. Worth seems to know how to get things done. In Dallas, we just sit around and argue about it.

I'm sick of all you racists that criticize Dallas just because it is full of minorities. Dallas and DISD is only a complete trainwreck because white people left it that way.

Whoa - are you playing the race card on me, or is that sarcasm? All I said is that Dallas city government is totally disfunctional. Draw your own conclusions as to why it is that way.

What an auspicious title. Who their right mind would want it?

The King of Lubbock or Waco.

Or King of College Station.

That has always been a frustration of mine.

SMU could MORE than compete with anyone in this state.

Look at the cities...Austin, Dallas and Houston versus Waco, Lubbock and College Station...what a disparity. (Fort Worth, btw, leans to the College Station camp).

Houston, while a more desirable city, has Coog High.

We should have been toe-to-toe with A&M as the 2nd best program in Texas.

dysfunctional school system, bankrupt budgets, councilmen fraud, potholes and high property taxes are meaningless arguments to 18 year old kids.

About a year before the DP scandal erupted, the DMN did a pretty good in-depth report on how SMU was selling the city of DALLAS to recruits and how it was working.

4 most formative years of my life...Dallas-Austin or Lubbock-Waco...

To me it is a no-brainer

ReedFrawg,

You have been on this board long enough to know that 85% of SMU fans will come up with anything they can to diss TCU and/or Ft. Worth. There are a few that comprehend that TCU has done things right for the past few years, and I, for one, am quite jealous of their accomplishments. If SMU had achieved the kind of success that TCU has, there would be much more "gloating" on this board over TCU that what is being done on the Frog board towards SMU, and though I read it a lot, do not post there. I am quite envious over what TCU and Patterson have been able to do and only hope that someday SMU can get to where TCU is.

I hear ya. I don't blame SMU fans for being bitter and pi$$ed...I know I would be if the roles were reversed. And maybe they will be in another 10-15 years.

I'm trying to figure out where Couch 'em found any reference to race or minorities in the posts he refers to. Seems to me he's the only one who sees race as being part of the problem.

Fact is several people who know Patterson & his wife personally have said they really enjoy being in the area and Patterson loves the TCU job.....However, TCU better step up and offer JJ type money to the guy this year or Patterson might just bolt to a bcs school for financial reasons.

That has already been addressed...he is making JJ type money.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Maybe he could negotiate to receive Jones' salary per win.
