A little more info:

One of those top performers was Ennis High's defensive tackle Tommy Daniels. Daniels is a mountain of a young man standing at 6'3 323 lbs. What makes Tommy so impressive was his foot quickness and his strength. On Saturday, Daniels' performance in the forty yard dash blew away most of the coaches and athletes who attended.

Daniels' fastest time was recorded at 4.91 seconds using Okscouting's state-of-the-art photocell timing system, which electronically records players performances in both the 20-yard and 40-yard dashes. Daniels' raw strength was also evident as he bench pressed 225 a staggering 25 times (estimated max bench of 400 pounds).

Tommy is one of the biggest high school players I've ever seen, and he's every bit as good as your writeup makes him sound. He's so big opponents always double-team and triple-team him, and he still throws guys around like they're not even there. Every team Ennis HS plays knows how big he is -- how could you not know? -- but he always seems to surprise teams with his quickness. It seems almost unfair that a guy that big can move like he does. How he didn't make first-team all-district last year is beyond me. He absolutely dominates the line of scrimmage.

Hey BUS, how happy would you be if we had Adami and Darrin Johnson starting this year with Desmond Jones, Brandon Bonds and Brent Karrington (if he's healthy) rotating behind them -- hopefully one of the freshmen can redshirt -- and then add this kid to the mix next year, when he could redshirt and learn from Adami and then join Johnson, Bonds, Jones and Karrington in the rotation.

Without having seen him play, this kid sounds like a must-sign. It's not like he's just a big kid -- with that quickness, Coach Bennett and his staff can teach him to play, if need be.

I would like to see the follwing. And NO I don't want to make anyone upset but.

I would like to see SMU have enough DT's that makes Adami play D-End. With his stength and quickness, along with his size - 270 or so I think Adami could play D-end at the next level - Not DT.

Just think of the QB's he could just LAY OUT!

How would you like to be a quarterback and have Adami come around one corner and Don Ieremia-Stansbury coming around the other side? Assuming the DTs (Johnson, Jones - whoever) can collapse the pocket and force the QB to run, he'd run right into the waiting arms of one of those guys.

I like Melvin Williams a lot, but Adami and Don I-S at the end spots sounds fearsome.

The two Freshmen may be able to step in. Both 290 plus and both 400 pound bench. Need then now!

Then put Adami and DI Stansbury at ends. What out QB'S

I don't think Desmond Jones is up to 290 yet, but he'll certainly get there. The PF.com Recruiting Roundup lists him at 275. And while we certainly could use both freshman DTs now, wouldn't it be better to redshirt one or the other, to let them learn and get stronger?

You'll want to keep Adami inside and put Desmond Jones outside. Personally, I think I'm going to enjoy watching Jones on the strong side (kid's a monster) and Stansbury on the weak side for the next couple of years.

You're moving Jones to end? I thought he was pegged as a DT all the way. Not true? How about we groom him for DT (by first turning him over to Coach Faucette) and then letting Ieremia-Stansbury and Lucky DeLay crash around the corners?

Sure. Stansbury/Delay makes sense at DE. Higher Authority wanted to move Adami outside with Jones at DT. I just thought that if you were going to move any DTs out, it might as well be the one who runs a 4.7 (and that would be Jones).

Although I hold Coach Faucette in the very highest regard, Desmond Jones is already built like a tank.

I think BUS's comment about Jones being 290 may have came from Coach Bennett, who said that Desmond Jones was working out like crazy and eating everything in sight. Of all the new D-linemen, Jones could be closest to being ready to play.

Webmaster, can you PLEASE post those other photos of Desmond Jones and the rest of the recruits?!?

Tommy Daniels is listing SMU, TCU, Colorado, Nebraska and Oklahoma as his top five right now. He has offers from Toledo and Baylor.
