If Graham (Harrell) is the superstar at Ennis High, Jenkins is right behind him. He's a great athlete who can do everything (as you can tell from the list of positions he's played.) I hear he's being recruited at several positions, but receiver is where he really scares other teams. He's got good size and speed, obviously, and he's stronger than he looks. I've seen him catch passes over the middle and get hit by linebackers, only to keep running while the LB lies flat on his back. Jenkins is getting a ton of attention from recruiters, and that attention is only going to increase between now and signing day, from what I hear.

Judging by the list of schools that have shown interest - and extended scholarship offers - it's clear that this kid is not one of those guys who's a good athlete but posting big numbers because he's playing average competition. With that many schools after him, he must be pretty good.

Between Tate Wallis, Jenkins and Daniels, it sounds like Ennis is a pretty fertile recruiting spot.

Uh oh - saw a new list today, and Jenkins doesn't have SMU on it.

Thanks for the update, TechFan. Hope your report is not accurate, of course - we'd like to see Jenkins playing for SMU, instead. I've read several reports that have suggested that Jenkins will have more success in college than Harrell (although I can't remember the reasons given).
Either way, good luck with the rest of your class - except when it comes to guys deciding between SMU and Tech, of course!
By the way, there was a guy a couple years ago who committed to SMU and then switched gears and went to Tech: Fred Threatt or something. How's he doing for you guys? Is he playing? Starting?
Thanks

Go SMU!

DALLAS,Fred Thrweatt hasn't played much his first 2 years at Tech(he did redshirt his frosh. year),Fred has been battling a weight problem, but has gotten it pretty much under control. Fred is supposed to be a starter this season, and i feel he has to step up because DT is probably our weakest postion on this years team(unless Clay Harmon recovers from a back injury). Good luck to the Ponies this year,i'd really love to see you guys turn it around pretty quick, and i believe you will w/ coach Bennett running the show. RAIDER POWER!!!

I read that the he had a strong spring and they are really counting on him this year and they think he has outstanding potential.

Jenkins has committed to Texas Tech. He's a very promising prospect who should have a productive career in Lubbock.

I saw where Jenkins said he's happy to be committed to Tech, because he thinks that's where he fits best. But then he backpedaled, saying ""I just might take some time out to visit a couple schools next year, but then I might not."
So maybe Coach Bennett can still change his mind - keep your fingers crossed.
