Living on the West Coast means listening to lots of SMU Radio.

Thank Goodness for Rich Phillips and Craig Swann, they do indeed feel our pain and make these games MUCH more entertaining.

Also like the banter between Phillips and Coach Doh.

Also like Alan Stone a whole lot….and it doesn’t hurt that he is an SMU alum as well.

Phillips and Swann are much better announcers than we deserve. I think they are awesome

It has to be a VERY difficult task to call years of bad games and losses. I don't have a problem with Rich and Craig - I think they do fine given the circumstances.

I absolutely loved the Memphis broadcast because I didn't hear it.

Next week at UTEP -- give me the tracker.

The only time I will turn it on is when I guess about the time they are going to talk to Jones. I know Rich won't screw that up and he usually doesn't. But when the interview is over so is my time devoted to listening to SMU football on the radio.

So General, remind us all again why you are a fan of the SMU program, or anything related to it? Seems to me that you pretty much can't stand anything about it. At least that's the way a lot of your posts come across.

I know how tough the last 8 years have been for me, so I am sure it's been just as tough on Rich & Craig to stick with it. I appreciate their enthusiasm, and they are genuine. Glad to see they got at least a small amount of appreciation.

If you think this is the worst radio combo we've ever had, you obviously missed the Ted Dawson-Forrest Gregg era. Dawson was a play-by-play guy who couldn't do play-by-play, he was just a TV talking head who faked his way through a game broadcast. Forrest, God love him, couldn't finish a sentence before the next play was snapped.

We don't deserve Rich Phillips. His professionalism and tempo are definitely big-market quality. Swann would never make a living as a broadcaster, but with Rich steering the ship he provides a lot of color to the broadcast - what a color guy should do. And there's no doubt where Swann's heart is.

Considering the lack of resources we have to devote to our radio broadcast, it is amazing that it is as good as it is. Don't believe me? Listen to some of the Big 12 radio crews. Some of them sound like a bunch of amateurs, and those are schools rolling in BCS money and sponsorships.

Dave and Dave from a$m make me want to throw the radio out the window. Phillips and Swann are great. The only people likely listening to an SMU game on the radio are SMU fans. Why shouldn't they be homers?

Swann is as rough around the edges as they come but we love our"homer"just the same. Phillps[Bluto's double] is very good.
