There should be a PonyFans section so we dont feel like idiots cheering.

That's a great idea. Perhaps the marketing/ticketing guys can do that for next season--a section near midfield where folks who want to cheer/yell can STAND together. I'd be willing to pay a premium for those tickets--I hate being around a game and no one is even interested in the game. Everyone in my section are (1) texting (2) talking on a phone (3) moving around and yelling at their kids to sit down, don't drop popcorn, etc. or (4) sitting in someone else's seat, then being forced out when the seat holder shows up mid-way through the first quarter (and then leaves mid-way through the third quarter, no matter the score).

I've never been to a football game where there is so much movement by fans.

And I'm not against a "family atmosphere". But I've never seen anything like this.

Just buy end zone tickets and all sit together on the 50. There's plenty of room.

Yes it's kinda tough sledding if you want to be loud and cheer on the team at the right times. I have 4 seats in row 12 of sec 106. The seats are good enough and the people around me are all very nice (looks like a mixture of parents, random fans, a few recruits, other student athletes, and very mildly interested alumni) but this section generates almost ZERO noise. My son and I will stand and clap for kickoffs, crucial 3rd down plays, and any good hits or fireworks on offense. 3rd and 3 and 4th and 3 (two of the most important plays of the game), we were pretty much the only people standing looking interested in what was going on on the field. I know this will never be Kyle Field (and that's good), but the lack of decibel level during cricial parts of the game is almost deafening. As a bonus, the pom pom girls are always entertaining for the first part of the game, but even that gets old after a while.

I will shamefully admit that we were late arrivers for this game. We showed up a few minutes into the first quarter and made the people in our seats move. Mostly because there were no other seats available nearby. If there had been seats anywhere close, I wouldn't have had an issue. But we are usually on time, and rarely (if ever) leave before the end of the game.

Last night I was at the Caps game and I heard someone rip the ref in a way I've never heard before. "Hey Ref, are you pregnant? You've missed the last two periods." The whole section was laughing. At SMU the guy probably would have been hauled out of the stands.
