What has JJ done for us this season?First the JW benching, then the starting of a true freshman, now this mess...
what has he really done for us besides take the money???
well his "guy" is average at best...
That is my criteria. Comparing this class to SMU's 20+ year past does nothing for me....this is a program that has only won 9 games over the past 22 years against D1-A teams with a winning record.
This whole thread is complete crap. Again, this is coming from the instant gratification crowd that,
"My god, if it doesn't happen this year or this week, IT WILL NEVER WORK AND IT'S A COMPLETE FAILURE.'' Grow up! Maybe he's restored some things internally that had to be done first that you and I don't know about. Again, this program will only succeed two ways: 1. Everything is turned around from the inside first 2. Everybody connected with SMU wants the program to succeed. If Jones is handcuffed in either area, his tenure will not be successful.
im not in that crowd of "instant gratification" i had no expectations but what am i to expect next year if hes going to suspend/bench/not play our best players... though you may think its crap...its just a simple question general. "what has jj done for us this year"
what or how did he set the stage?
So you're saying that there should two sets of rules for our best players and then for the rest of the team? And that he should fully incorporate a star system? Maybe if this were pros or a Texas-like program, then that system would exist. This program hasn't been worth beans since it's return and should not warrant that. What better way to send a message to your team that if can happen to them, it will happen to you -- IF YOU DON'T DO WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO!! And maybe we're finding out that this a fallout from the Bennett era where Phil gave the unjust start treatment. And these guys still thought they could get away with it. After the Willis suspension, they may have had selected memories and still thought they could do it -- AFTER THEY WERE REPEATEDLY WARNED! Do you want June to look the other way? Give a pat on the back and ask "Please don't do that again.'' My interpretation is that he's pretty pissed off at the lack of commitment from the kids and wants kids in the program who will do what is necessary to succeed.
