New Safety prospect Le'Marcus Gibson?Scout is reporting that this Hawaii retread and current JC Safety might be coming out for next year.
Original offers out of High School from Hawaii, Buffalo, Houston Vandy and Louisiana Tech. http://smu.scout.com/a.z?s=357&p=8&c=1&nid=3908658 If nothing else, the Coaches know what they'll have in him. -CoS

The link above has the quotes I archived about LeMarcus Gibson. Below are a couple of the quotes. [quote]About how Gibson is a smart player with a lot of talent, DB coach Rich Miano said: “He got into Vanderbilt, which means he’s smart. He’s very conscientious and rarely comes back the next day and makes the same mistake if you correct him. Athletically, he reminds me of (former UH safety) Dee Miller, who was also from Mississippi.â€
It really makes you wonder about McElroy doesn't it? He was supposed to be our JC Savior this year. -CoS
We signed two JC DBs this past year and I thought the defense would have to improve slightly with their addition and Rock's return from injury. I don't believe the JUCOs have played much, while a walk-on played in nickel situations at the start of the year. Now it's reported that we have offered two JC CBs from California and Gibson. I guess the search for good DB help continues.
Agreed. Watch our defensive line throughout the game. I can't think of a single guy who consistently plays behind the line of scrimmage. Yenga is a good pass rush guy, but he's physically limited against the run. We need to get guys who are physically able to get penetration. We consistently are "catching" blocks and getting driven off the ball. When a team doesn't respect your d-line then it really limits your options defensively.
Back off Warchild seriously.
I especially liked this part of the evaluation. "He is a physical tackler for his size and will wrap up." That is something we really need. Arm tackling has killed us this year.
