JJ is burning this thing to the ground
When JJ announced that BLM was going to be his starting QB I said that this is a wasted season. We were going to go 1-11.
I was pissed.
Pissed that my 4 season tickets were wasted.
Pissed that my 1K contribution to the mustang club based on "hope" made me feel foolish
Pissed that my 2 sons have lost whatever interest they had in attending an SMU game.
Pissed that there would never be any energy or enthusiasm at the stadium.
Pissed that I would once again be denied a bona fide D1 program.
So I now conclude the following:
Season 1: Burn it to the ground. SMU is the D1 equivelent of a crack house. A run down building with a culture of despair.
Season 2: The rebuilding begins.
Season 3: .500
Season 4: If we don't extend his contract, recruits know he is headed back to the islands and we go back into the cycle.
So, no more season tickets. Reduced Mustang Club donations. I'm 30+years into this thing and until I see a product that ISN'T the among the worst teams in D1, I'm staying away.

Put the green-eyed monster back in the chest. You're not paying one cent of his salary (I assume), and neither is the Mustang Club.
I am not thrilled with the way this season has panned out, but I am very proud of our football program for making the decision to do things right. We are lucky to have a guy like June working on our campus, in my opinion. I have no doubt this will work. I feel sorry for those of you that do.

Hey dude, the monster has been out of the chest for 21 years. Enough is enough. Anybody that bought a ticket this year contributed to Junes paycheck. And if that comes out to one penney, then I guess you get what you paid for.Mustangsabu wrote:Glenn Sosbee wrote:How does this guy cash those enormous paychecks with a straight face? The program has been a wreck for 20 years. Sure it it frusterating we have essentially flushed another season away but JJ has said this is about building a program. He has said the things he is doing now with the program are about having a competitive, winning team 5, 7, 10 years from now and not just having a quick fix. JJ has to install his rules and create a winning culture the way he knows how. I am not disappointed in JJ. I am disappointed in the players and the past anti-competitive rules that got us where we are today.
