That would be Ginny Bear's, I believe. It's now a Thai restaurant on the northwest corner of S.M.U. Blvd. & Greenville Ave. Correct?

Another popular hangout was Gordo's.

It is still Yale Blvd at Greenville Avenue...at least for now.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

The Stables shared roaches and the alley with Up Your Alley. They didn't card my freshman or sophomore years very often. When I became a junior the drinking age dropped to 18.

isn't College just a waste of time when you can't drink until you are 21. Poor kids of today.

Dickerson/James and Waggoner-all freshman. Mike Ford got hurt and Jim Bob Taylor became QB

When and how did Mike Ford get hurt? Is this why he didn't play much of the season? For some reason, I thought he was benched in favor of someone else.

But then I didn't remember Ginny Bear's. Wonder what happened to her?

Ginny died not too long ago. I believe there was a post here on pf.com about it.

I think he was hurt during the TCU game in 1979. He got benched in 1980 basically because SMU needed to go to a option running offense with Dickerson and James-Ford weighed a good 250. But Ford was an All-American candidate in a passing offense.
