Character builder today?

Postby ponyte » Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:02 am

With the loss of two star receivers, a struggling defense and vulnerability at QB, is today a test for the charter of our young team?

It is a test of character for the team and a continuing test of character for the fans.

I will be listening in and interested in who might take advantage of their opportunity to show they can be "gamers"

I guess after 20 years of futility, I've come to realize I just can't quit on this program.

Probably one of the better known "suspension efforts" was the Lou Holtz Arkansas team aginst Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. He suspended, I believe, 3 starters on offense and Oklahoma became a prohibitve favorite. Arkansas then went out and beat Oklahoma in a very impressive effort.

Perhaps we can get that tonight.

It is an opportunity to be sure. Now can some young kids take advantage of their opportunity. I will listen with a hope that we hear some new names doing wonderful jobs.

Hopefully the new names are not UTEP players.

I can see it now-SMU pulls out a secret weapon-a long forgotten 4th string QB who leads the team to glory.
