SMU Targets Highlite OU Camp

two recruits who have verbally expressed great interest in SMU apparently took center stage at the OU camp attracting the attention of Bob Stoops, Venables and other coaches. WR Donald(D.J.) Massey from Hillsboro and CB Anthony Germany from Oklahoma City Putnam caught the attention of the big boys going head-to-head. Both apparently had their moments but Massey noted while leaving the field that he thought he was going to get an offer. Germany had earlier listed SMU and Stanford at the top of his list. Personally, I rather see them on the Hilltop.

Does Massey have an offer from the table from us? If Oklahoma has now offered I'm a little concerned. We need to sign up both Henderson and Massey to add speed to the team.

The Bennett brothers have told Henderson he may be the fastest kid they have EVER recruited! He ran a 4.25/40 at the Tech camp this past Wednesday and ran a 4.31/40 at the Nike camp (early May) on a bad hammy. It would be fun to watch Massey and Henderson go on the same field.

By the way, Austin WR Fred Strong just committed to Oklahoma. Maybe Massey isn't quite as high a priority as he was before? How many WRs did the Sooners lose from last year's roster?

Sorry, 1411, you were talking about Jessie Henderson - I thought you were talking about Tommy Henderson, the QB/athlete from Wichita Falls. Sorry for the confusion.

Sounds like you know Jessie - what's he thinking now? When is he going to join Vincent Chase as an SMU commitment?

Sounds like both Henderson and Massey have to be top priorities for the SMU coaches. Adding speed like that can only help the Ponies improve in a hurry.
