Dont underestimate Gordon Watt, he's a legitimate player. He hung 26 on us last year, his career best against a D1 school.

HBU, what has happened to Emmanual Lewis, is he still on the team? Injured? I see his name on the roster, but he hasnt played yet, this year.

Heck. At 5'6, even McCoy can back down Wilson. It would be nice to see our PG play get a boost against a team with PG troubles. Build some confidence going into the weekend and not to mention finding your rhythm on a new team.

I'm already aware of Watt. We all saw what he did to us and a lot of other teams. Nice to have a higher D1 talent roaming the floor for you. Especially at the SG position.

Emmanuel Willis has basically been injured his entire collegiate career. Unfortunately, our school isn't exactly Dennis Franchione when it comes to injury reports, so I don't know much. I think he is at least out a couple weeks, and yes, he could very well be done.

Gordon Watt is good. He is definitely our best player. He was dismissed from Purdue's team (for public intoxication I believe)...or something similar to that, and he ended up here because he did not have to sit out any time, and he has a connection to John Lucas here in Houston. I can tell you though, that when I have spoken to him, he seems like a good guy. Well-spoken, nice guy, and he does not shy away from the fans here either; obviously he made at least one mistake, but definitely not a head case.

- 12 Baron Sauls G 6-2 180 Sr-1L Houston/Elsik (Texas-Arlington)

- 21 Gordon Watt G-F 6-6 225 Sr-1L Evanston, Ill./Township (Purdue)

- 45 Mario Flaherty C 6-9 230 Jr-Tr Millbrae, Calif./Mills (Skyline College)

Point guard is small and a weak position on their team. Not getting a bunch of assists out of their core guard rotation. Wilson is avg 2.5 assists per game. Looks like Sauls and Watt put up a majority of their shots. Focus our defense on their guard play and wear them down in the paint. If we settle for jump shots and don't take the ball inside, expect a close game or a loss.

Hope Bamba got a refresher course in passing out of a double team. Five turnovers will not cut it.

I played against Sauls in high school. I remember him being a pretty good player. Don't know about college, but he could school me.

Sauls is pretty good. He is really the only guard we have gotten anything out of in our 2 games thus far. He is playing 36 minutes a game, and the next highest guy is at 27 minutes. Problem is, neither he nor any other guard is getting any assists, and they are turning the ball over way too much.

Seriously, this is a huge 8 days for SMU basketball, right before Thanksgiving break. We have 4 very winnable games in the next 8 days. Obviously, I'm not saying we're going to win, just that we have that opportunity, and probably more talent on the roster.

The Time is Now, Doh! Generate some excitement, get some early W's.

This is a very important stretch. I still remember our first game last year in our tip off classic, we were up on Southern in the second half by 15 points and then all of sudden, they came back and won. We then spent the rest of the weekend and the early part of the season getting our asses handed to us in our own gym by schools we should not even be playing.

Set the tone for the whole season.

I want to see this team sweep up until A&M (the real one, not the international one). We need to be at 6-1 by that point.

I fully expect we will be, TCU in Ft. Worth will be tough, but we can win it.

6-1!!!!!!!!

Illinois St. is a good squad. Osiris Eldridge is back for them, and they have a good transfer from Oregon, Champ Oguchi, who will play this year. He averaged 10 ppg for Oregon two years ago when Aaron Brooks was on the team. Oguchi actually went to hs outside Houston @ Fort Bend Bush. I am counting that game as a loss for us, and I imagine it will be a tough one for you too.
