Re: Jonathan LindleyHornFans.com had a post by a newspaper writer in the Sulphur Springs area who interviewed Lindley yesterday who said that Lindley was also being heavily recruited by Michigan St. and Iowa St. There will probably he an article in that paper in the next few days that someone should post if found.
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Jonathan LindleyDoes anyone know the name (or website) for a paper in Sulphur Springs? I can't seem to find one.
Or is there a bigger town nearby that might cover Sulphur Springs? Thanks PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Re: Jonathan LindleyBelow is the article from Rivals.com on Lindley.
June 23, 2003 Pony Express adds new commit -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeremy Crabtree Rivals100.com Recruiting Analyst One of the better cornerback prospects in the Lone Star State has decided to commit early to the SMU Mustangs and assistant coach Jerry Bennett. So who is the latest recruit to jump on the Pony Express? It’s Sulphur Springs, Texas, cornerback Jonathan Lindley. Lindley said he called Bennett earlier this morning to let him know that he’s ready to pledge to SMU. After a few minutes of discussion, he decided to make it official, picking SMU over offers from Baylor, UTEP and heavy interest from Iowa, North Texas, TCU and Texas. “I love it up there at SMU,†Lindley said. “I really love the atmosphere and it’s not too far from home. Coach Bennett did a great job of recruiting me. He’s just like the coaches at my high school. He’s a funny guy that always has a great story to tell you. I wanted to play for a coach like that.†Lindley, a first-team all-district selection as a junior after recording around 40 solo tackles, said he’s a very good lockdown corner and he has good speed to go with his 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame. “I have been timed at 4.42 at a few summer camps, including the one at Texas,†Lindley said. “The coaches at Texas told me they wish they would have seen me earlier before they had other defensive backs commits because they wanted to offer me. "They told me that I did really good at their camp, but I’m really excited about picking SMU. It’s going to be a great fit for me.â€
Re: Jonathan LindleyThank you for posting that, Sonic!
Re: Jonathan LindleyLike I stated earlier I got in touch w/ Coach Turner over there at Sulphur Springs and he said Lindley is the real deal. He reinforced the statement about Texas wanting to offer him and how they wish they had a chance to see him earlier in the recruiting process. Very fast kid w/ outstanding insticts. Also a good student/kid. Sounds like a good one
![]() Kurt P.S. Lindley needs to work on another northeast texan by the name of henderson over at paris ![]() Basically, I'm a badass.
