900 total yards, lotta defense out there. ball state is going to get massacred if they meet up with a legitimate foe in bowl season
just like boise state when they played OU ?
While that was the best game I have ever seen, and had never cheered for a team I was not a previous fan of like I did for Boise in that game, wasn't OU like 9-4 going into that game? Isn't that the year they lost to TCU at home?
no. OU was 11-2 going into the bowl game. their two losses were at #18 Oregon (the game where the refs blew the onside kick call) and to #7 Texas.

of course a smartass has to say something like this....did boise get totally dominated the year before by rutgers in a bowl game? they didn't. ball state blows and would be a waste of space in an upper tier bowl game. try and bring out the stats, i dont buy it. once they meet a decent defense, they'll be exposed
stats? Boise State v. OU 784 total yards of offense. when did boise play rutgers in a bowl game?
2002 Iowa Stat W 34-16
2003 #19 TCU W 34-31
2004 #7 Louisville L 44-40
2005 #18 Boston College L 27-21
2006 #11 OU 43-42 W
2007 ECU L 41-38

Depends on the upper tier bowl game. Would Ball State do better than the ACC champion this year? Would Ball State do better than the BE champion this year? In both cases the answer would be a resounding, YES. The ACC champs could be one of like seven teams at this point all with 2 or three losses at least and those losses have been ugly losses. The BE champs are even more flawed. I think Boise, Ball, Utah, BYU or TCU all would do better in a bowl this year than the champion of either the ACC or the BE. On the other hand, they would not do as well as Tex or OU or OSU and at least two of those teams will not be BCS at large picks. Boy this would be an exciting year for a 16 team playoff with Ball, Boise, Utah, UTex, TT, OU/OSU, FL, AL, ACC champ, BE champ, CUSA champ, Troy, USC , PSU, GA and another team. Wow. Depending on seeding you could end up with some interesting first round match-ups. Whichever teams get the 5-10, 6-9, 8-7 would be wars.

ball state lost to rutgers in their ONE bowl game in the past 12 years. they've been to 4 bowl games and are 0-4 getting outscored 139-84.

well good thing ball state decided to show up to their games this year rather then rely on the results of the past 12 years... maybe smu should think about doing the same thing
