i saw that interview with him on saturday. VERY sharp kid. puts the student in student-athlete. it's nice to see kids like this excel on the field and in the classroom.

another outstanding student is the QB for Vandy.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

The QB quoted in the story, Christian Ponder, went to Colleyville Heritage. Ponder's dad was a DL for the Seminoles in the early 1980s.

FSU does need the off-the-field good news. Hope the kid will be awarded one.

Myron graduated at the top of his high school class, if I am not mistaken.

And I might be wrong, but I think Chad Pennington was up for the same thing when he was at Marshall, but didn't get accepted.

Probably so. Just heard Ed Cunningham point that "he got his rhodes scholarship''. They made a big deal of it because he appeared late in the second quarter for the first time in the game because he came in from the interview.

Again, I caught the tail end of it.

I wonder who provided the private plane for him to get to the game? Could be an NCAA violation.

FSU approached and received a waiver from the NCAA.

Remember they call themselves the National Collegiate Athletic Association

and FSU doesn't answer to the name SMU
