Dallas (Carter) DE Ryan Johnson is considered one of the top defensive linemen in the nation. He's big (6-foot-5, 240 pounds), fast (4.7 seconds in the 40) and being recruited by everyone (has offers from Arizona, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech). But rivals says he wants to stay "close to home." What's closer to Carter than SMU? Nothing. We don't appear to be on his radar at the moment, but we should be. Maybe Desmond Jones can help recruit him? Landing this guy would be quite a coup.

It's nice to dream, but don't bet your rent on getting him. He's a top-tier stud. I bet he ends up at one of the state schools. Unfortunately.

Dark -
Not sure where your info. is coming from, but I haven't seen Ryan listed (yet) as a top 100 player.
And I don't think he has offers from all those you mentioned. I know A&M hasn't offered.
Not at all a knock...he looks to be a GREAT recruit. Just trying to get some facts straight.
The Johnson at DE that A&M HAS offered is Trumaine from Galena Park - FYI.

I saw the same list (or close to the same list) of schools offering Johnson. I can't remember where I read it, though. Everything I've heard suggests that he'll have his choice of countless scholarship offers.
