Rapp never got a fair shake and he inherited a program that was going through a talent down cycle. Ledbetter correctly bailed as the head coach when Carroll moved up to 4A because he knew the talent wasn't good enough.

And when Carroll missed the playoffs, you would have thought Rapp committed Treason.

And if we're praising Dodge so much -- and I think he is a great coach -- then how come he didn't tear it up at Cameron Yoe, Carrollton Newman Smith and Keller Fossil Ridge?

Simple answer: Didn't have the players.

He had a sub or near .500 record before he got to Carroll.
wasson had the players last year to beat abilene (even with the injuries)

You also knew that Blake Cantu wasn't 100 percent healthy. You're getting hammered in this argument because you come off sounding like the typical ENTITLED Carroll follower.

Carroll was also the better team against Katy in 2003 in the title game? Did they win it?

Whatever. You didn't win the game. Sounds like you're having a hard time letting that game go. Ridiculous.
so do you think wasson is as good as dodge?

No, Wasson isn't a strong a coach as Dodge, but he is quite capable of winning playoff games and state championships. The question is whether the Carroll faithful and the administration w/ its indoor practice facility and program running through junior high, even pee-wee ball, has enough talent coming up to allow Wasson to do so before they take his job away.

The General is right (and it gaws me almost as much as it does to say "Stallion is right"). Let it go.

Depends on the talent he is working with and the health of the team. Wouldn't you agree?

Again, the Carroll entitlement [deleted] has to stop. The guy is 19-5 in two seasons and got the program into the playoffs each year. He's also 3-2 in the playoffs.

You ain't getting 80-1 every 5 years. So get that through your head.

Do you think this Carroll team could have won a state championship -- even with their starting QB going down?

For your viewing, here is the Wasson Record;
Wasson is 141-85-2 in 21 seasons as a head coach. His teams have reached the playoffs 13 times.

Horrible! Just Horrible! Got anything else, smart guy?

wow you are really bitter about southlake... good thing im not one of those "typical ENTITLED Carroll followers"... however, i am someone who appreciates a winning program who EXPECTS nothing but winning from their team (i know you are an smu fan so you may not understand). so i will respond one last time then i am done with this thread

yes i agree. But as i stated earlier, Dodge was able to take a bunch of juniors and win the state game. Wasson was unable to repeat with a majority of the starters back. As for the health of the players I personally believe the abilene game wouldn't have been that close in the first palce. We can argue about that all day but we will never know.

Again, the Carroll entitlement [deleted] has to stop. The guy is 19-5 in two seasons and got the program into the playoffs each year. He's also 3-2 in the playoffs.

It's not about entitlement its about expectations. If you don't understand the difference look it up. Since I did not go to carroll I could careless what you think about their fans, but apparently thats one of your buttons. As for the 19-5 record in 2 years, Southlake has also managed to give up 40+ three times. From 2002-2006 that NEVER happened. And if you throw in 2001 its only happened once and that was to the state champions (ennis)

You ain't getting 80-1 every 5 years. So get that through your head.
smu may be able to go 1-80 every 5 years. once again its about expectations. and if you are going to have a [deleted] poor attitude like that, then you are right you will never go 80-1

Do you think this Carroll team could have won a state championship -- even with their starting QB going down?
