Listen EVERYONE...I can assure you that BENNETT is the ****t..
My Froggie friends have told me repeatedly that Bennett will get it done in Dallas...
In fact, some trainers were out with a friend of mine the other night, a frogger that is...and he told me that those guys are so stoked on Bennett...
I am telling you now that we will be there. Soon.

Hell, I'll vouch for the guy. I played for him briefly at TCU, he's a great coach and a great guy. I've got full faith that he'll turn things around, but give him time.

Good point, Dallas Frog. With all the excitement and enthusiasm around here, I worry that we might expect too much, too fast. We need to realize the hard work Coach Bennett and his staff are putting in, not just to get ready for this season, but also to lay the foundation for a solid future.
I really shouldn't drink and type.

I hope for some improvement over last year because there was no improvemnt over Cavan last year. Bennett must win at least 5 to make me believe the ship is going in the right direction. That means beating Rice, UTEP, Tulsa and 2 others. Looking at the schedule, those 2 may be hard to find. On the other hand, IF the guy is really a good game day coach, 3 more might be pulled out. 6 wins and I'm ecstatic.
Bennett has started out recruiting well. We had a top 60-70 or so class. Let's not get hopes so high because we have better soph and frosh (than the last few 15 years) that realistic achievements of 5-6 games are disappointments and we start hearing people calling for Bennett's head. It also becomes harder to recruit if a coach doesn't win. If Bennett goes another 2 years with results like last year, the story he is selling doesn't sell as well. Let's hope for steady improvement.

I'm not sure that's fair to Coach Bennett. When he arrived, the cupboard was pretty bare, talent-wise. I'd say give him at least one more recruiting class before expecting drastic changes, which also gives his first recruits another year to mature.

the schedule is tougher this year than last, so don't expect any improvement from that 3-9 result.
Remember when Ron Meyer was building the program? We improved steadily every year, although there were baby steps the 1st 3 yrs. I would be content with 4-8 and believe that would be a significant improvement looking at the schedule.

Personally, I would want to beat Rice, UTEP and Tulsa, but I would also like to see a win against La. Tech and either SJS, Nevada, or Baylor (all of which in my view are possibles). Any other victories should be cast in the totally wild upset category.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
