Otto you do realize that Texas had already beaten A&M 49-9 by the time you posted that gem.

i used to be down on Mack, but what a job he has done. He has brought in a stellar staff and out recruits almost every other school in the country. This is an incredibly talented team.
I would like to see Greg Davis exit stage left after his mis-management of the clock in the TT game, among a number of other bone head moves. As for mack, though, my view of him changed completely after the NC win at the Rose Bowl. Not for what happened on the field, but for what he said to the team in the locker room. He coaches football, yes - but his isn't just to to win games.
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

One more reason I like Mack Brown is that he primarily recruits Texas kids only, and yes I know these Texas kids are 4 and 5 star blue chippers, but he prefers to recruit area/in-state kids and usually keeps them here.....I love that. If we were in the mix for these kids I would hate that, but we are not, so I don't. Look how it compares to other big-time programs in football rich states:
UT:
2009 - 18 of 19 recruits are from TX
2008 - 19 of 20 recruits are from TX
Florida:
2009 - 7 of 13 recruits are from Fla
2008 - 11 of 22 recruits are from Fla
USC:
2009 - 13 of 16 recruits are from Cal
2008 - 15 of 19 recruits are from Cal
Ohio St:
2009 - 13 of 24 recruits are from Ohio
2008 - 9 of 20 recruits are from Ohio

A friend of mine is a big UNC guy who once played there way back when. He says that the darkest day in UNC history was when they let Mack Brown slip through their fingers rather than give the guy a contract extension. Brown has done nothing but win at UT, and UNC is now on their fourth or fifth coach since Brown left.

I was at the game. UT announced that the crowd was the largest to see a game ever in the state of Texas, but there were definitely some empty seats (mostly in the East Upper Deck). I guess that it's not only us that counts tickets sold instead of butts in seats.
Anyway, it was a great experience. Got to meet former Longhorn great Kenneth Sims, snap my picture with this year's Heisman trophy, and cheer at the top of my lungs against the Aggies.
Oh, one more thing. 45-35.

Was at the game as well.......makes an SMU fan realize how irrelevant we have become in the world of college football.

Just wish the dumba$$ voters would have remembered 45-35 before they decided to jump Big Game Bob (bring your own vomit bag for that title) over Texas last week.
Complete crap that Texas won this game -- PULLING AWAY IN THE FOURTH QUARTER -- and all of the sudden, that doesn't matter? Whatever.
And I don't even want the Tech thing to be a part of this discussion since they fell so far in the standings.

You know there is one point that I don't see mentioned much but that is that UT has already beaten the North Champion Missouri BADLY 56-31-OU did not have them on the schedule this year-and I guess that playing TCU balances it out somewhat. But isn't it telling that UT has beaten both OU and Missouri-and somehow they would play for the Big 12 Championship?

Weird how people downgrade Mack Brown. The guy has a national championship, his teams have won won at least 10 games a season for the past eight seasons, eight out of their last seven bowl games and four bowl games in a row yet he sucks?
Go figure.

However if Ok State pulls off the upset then TT is back in the mix as they play the extra Big 12 Championship Game.

Are you referring to the one that was hanging out of one of the suites in the north end zone?
