Re: B.J MATHIS AND TREY BRYANT LIKES WHAT SMU HAS TO OFFER!!Thanks for the update.
They're both going to be seniors this year? Has SMU offered them yet?
Re: B.J MATHIS AND TREY BRYANT LIKES WHAT SMU HAS TO OFFER!!Mathis isn't too big - a program from one of last year's games lists him at 5'6, 169. As I recall, he sure is fast, though. I remember someone telling me he runs in the 4.3-4.4 range. That's flying.
He also was Berkner's offensive MVP this year, although I don't have any stats. [This message has been edited by Corso (edited 07-27-2003).]
Re: B.J MATHIS AND TREY BRYANT LIKES WHAT SMU HAS TO OFFER!!And to answer Buddha's question, I think Bryant is only going to be a junior this fall.
Re: B.J MATHIS AND TREY BRYANT LIKES WHAT SMU HAS TO OFFER!!Bryant did 17 reps at 205 on the bench? Having just finished 10th grade? That's impressive. Really impressive.
Re: B.J MATHIS AND TREY BRYANT LIKES WHAT SMU HAS TO OFFER!!Eric Neal is from Berkner too. If he knows them maybe he could help get them to the Hilltop.

Re: B.J MATHIS AND TREY BRYANT LIKES WHAT SMU HAS TO OFFER!!Good point. Eric bleeds Red and Blue as much as any player we have. I bet he'd be a very convincing salesman if he knows those guys.

... "Hit it."
Re: B.J MATHIS AND TREY BRYANT LIKES WHAT SMU HAS TO OFFER!!I met Eric at a neighbors house two three years ago. He was pumped to be a Mustang and to kick some [deleted]. I think he has put on about 30 pounds of SOLID muscle and looks to play a lot this year.
I went to Lake Highland but I may need to watch some Berker games this year. GSS Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Re: B.J MATHIS AND TREY BRYANT LIKES WHAT SMU HAS TO OFFER!!If you went to Lake Highlands, talk that Frank Okam guy into committing, too!
Once a Mustang, ALWAYS a Mustang!
Re: B.J MATHIS AND TREY BRYANT LIKES WHAT SMU HAS TO OFFER!!our coaches must cringe when they see some of the commments on this board. It would be a violation for our alumni to be soliciting recruits. It's one thing to say welcome aboard to someone who has indicated a commitment in a public forum like this, but even e-mailing a recruit directly could become a problem. You've got to believe the NCAA would love to come investigate SMU again at the 1st sign of success.
I know when I get my Mustang Club "thank you" every year, there's plenty of warning included about staying away from anything that could even remotely be construed as recruiting...let's leave that to the coaches and players to sell SMU. When good players commit early, I think you can safely assume they will try to sell some of their buddies on joining them.
