Irving ConnectionI've been on vacation but while I was gone there was a great article on the front page of the Irving Morning News about Bobby Chase, Chris Hall, Zach Hall, Lucky DeLay and Vincent Chase. The date of the article is July 24th. This is a great plug for these athletes and for SMU. I don't know how to link the article but the web site is irvingmorningnews.com
Re: Irving Connectionwhat a great article! here's the link:

Re: Irving ConnectionIrving and MacArthur will produce quality d-1 players every year. You can depend on 1-2, sometimes 3 players/yr from each school. Nimitz, although usually good, is a small team and doesn't produce the quantity of d-1 players of Mac and Irving. Getting 2-4 players/yr form the ISD is not a bad way to go.
Re: Irving ConnectionUNF, thanks for posting the link.
Re: Irving ConnectionThanks for the story tip, cowboypony, and the link, UNFMustang06. The story is now linked up on the home page, as well.
PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Re: Irving ConnectionGreat story!
These guys are going to be key, but let's not belittle the contributions everyone else needs to make to get the team back where we all want it to be.
Re: Irving ConnectionYeah a bunch of boys from Irving are going to lead SMU to WAC VICTORY!!!!!!WHOA HO!!!!!
Re: Irving Connectionwell let's see Delay 6-5, 265, Z.Hall 6-3, 225, and Vincent Chase 6-5, 250 have all been named 3 star recruits and Chris Hall 6-5, 285 has already made a list as one of the Top Juniors in the state-so yes that's the plan. Each one is a quality Division 1 prospect-don't know why you'd take a shot at these guys.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Irving ConnectionOh three stars? I am sorry. Thought they were two stars...Nevermind, they will be top WAC stars...
Re: Irving ConnectionVincent Chase had OFFERS from Florida, Kansas St., LSU, Nebraska, OU, Syracuse, Wisconsin and about 10 other schools. Delay had offers from Oklahoma St. and West Virgina. Zach Hall committed in July of his junior year so its hard to say what offers he might have gotten but he did have an offer from Iowa St, and interest from Nebraska, Notre Dame, OU, Texas and A&M. Chris Hall committed even before his junior year but all look like they turned down multiple BCS opportunities to play at SMU. If you going to attack SMU's talent level at least have enough knowledge to know where to fire.

Re: Irving ConnectionWay to go Stallion!
We're proud of the recruits Coach Bennett is pulling in. (Maybe hahaha should announce his affiliation.)
Re: Irving ConnectionI would suspect his affiliation is either green or purple in color.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Irving ConnectionI'm with you, PK. I'm guessing purple.
Re: Irving ConnectionWhat a terrific article. The Irving boys sound like an exceptional group of young men.
Welcome aboard!
