SMU to televise more men's games

Postby George S. Patton » Thu Dec 04, 2008 1:03 pm

I think Metro Sports is Jeff Watts company. I've heard he's also trying to get the Radio rights.

METRO SPORTS TEXAS TO TELEVISE SMU MEN’S BASKETBALL IN DFW, WACO, AUSTIN, AND SAN ANTONIO
All-Remaining Home Games on Metro Sports or CBS College Sports Network

DALLAS (SMU) --- SMU, CBS College Sports Network, and Metro Sports Texas have reached an agreement to televise 13 remaining SMU men’s basketball games this season on Time-Warner Cable in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Waco, Austin, and San Antonio markets. The first live telecast is Friday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. when SMU hosts Texas A&M – International. In addition to four games on CBS College Sports Network, 18 of the remaining 25 regular-season contests will be televised.

Thanks! Sure wish more of the away games were on TV. I'll be at all of the home games.

So, is there any way for the San Antonio/Austin/Waco crowd to get the MetroSports games (other than via All-Access), or are we meant to get by with the 4 CBSCS games?

I read it as saying you get all of the games as long as you have TimeWarner

That's how I initially read it, but after checking my channel guide (I have TW and the sports tier), I can't find a MetroSports channel. Hmmm... Perhaps they have yet to add it to the lineup, or maybe I just need to give TW more money.

Presumably these are live vs. the tip-off classic games.

I guess if you have Dish Network or DirecTV, you're pretty much out of luck.

Metro is definitely on TW, I have seen it before. Not sure which channel.

Good news, i guess we won't have to watch All access.
