New Sports Radio Station...105.3 The Fan

Post by Peruna2001 »

Used to be Live 105.3...recently they fired the midday show and brought on Ben & Skin who you might have heard if you listen to the noon June Jones Show. Just fired Russ Martin and switched formats yesterday.

The lineup is Jagger (morning), Kevin Scott & Greg Hill (midday), and Ben & Skin (afternoon drive).

I'm upset about firing Russ Martin, because I enjoyed listening to him. Plus, I think putting another sports station in Dallas isn't really needed. However, I'm interested to see if the station might start picking up more SMU stuff since they already built the relationship of the June Jones show.
"He was quoting the Bible, Revelations. 'Behold the pale horse.' The man who 'sat on him was Death... and Hell followed with him.'"

"You tell 'em I'm coming... and hell's coming with me!"

Ah, Russ Martin was great. Was upset when they canceled his show here in Austin and turned it into a Tejano station

The General Manager of 105.3, David Henry, is an SMU alum.

He was teaching advertising classes a couple years ago and working for Jack FM/CBS Radio too. I wonder if he stopped teaching at Temerlin?

He still teaches a class at SMU (in exchange for football and basketball tickets, I think). He heads up the CBS Radio stations in town. I believe he is a Mustang Band alum, too.
