Do we have a hope for this kid? Seems like SMU is out for him. Anyone have any word? Also, what about Corsicana db Jonte Manning? I seem to recall that he would make a great future possibility?

Okam's being chased by every team in the country. Every list I've seen has him considering the big boys: Texas, OU, Miami, Florida State, UCLA, etc. Haven't seen HIM mention US anywhere. We're after him, but I bet Brookhaven CC would like to have him for their intramural football team, too. He's headed to a national-profile team, I'd bet.

In the last two weeks he visited TCU and Arkansas. Said he liked them both

Jonte Manning reportedly is a terrific player - I've read somewhere that he's similar to Mesquite safety Randy Duncan, an SMU target. But have good size (Duncan is about an inch taller, according to most reports I've seen), and has about 10 pounds on Manning. Both run well and are great hitters. There are some who think both could move to OLB in college with ease. I gather they're both terrific athletes (I've seen Duncan, and Manning sure draws high praise from recruiting experts) and I'd love to see SMU go after both.
