Apparently Bush wants to get back to watching sports, but doesn't want to draw too much attention, he should be fine at SMU games.

Sosa, even in his pre-roid state, would have eventually been good for 30 HRs each year in that ball park. Harold Baines was the key part of the deal and was only here for about 2 seasons. Fred Manrique was here about the same time and he was essentially a utility infielder. They ended trading Baines to Oakland for spare parts. Probably gave away Manrique, I don't remember. One could make an argument that one decent piece to that trade that the Rangers gave up was Wilson Alvarez. He wasn't spectacular but he had his moments, including tossing a no-hitter. So yeah, bad deal all the way around.NickSMU17 wrote:sans steriods it would have been a good trade...
Back on topic: I can't believe W is going to live in a house that, from the pics on TV, looks like a normal house on a regular street. i.e., a front door just a few steps from the curb. Maybe I'm not seeing the full picture.
Of course, you're not going to be able to just drive down that street once W moves in. I'm sure the secret service will stop anyone who doesn't "belong" there.
But if this house is what it apears on TV, I think this is a gross miscalculation on W's part. He's thinking he can go back to his pre-presidential life, or something similar to what his father enjoys. He doesn't realize he is the most disliked president since Nixon, probably moreso, since there are so many outside the U.S. who detest him.
In other words, I can't believe the Ws aren't moving into some kind of walled estate. Because he's rankled the militant Muslims, he's going to need more security than any former president.
