I'm sure glad the government is there to run my life for me. How ever else could I survive?

And just wait until they come after your booze...again.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

So naive, they already tax our booze

On May 11, the Texas Senate approved a 25 percent increase in the alcohol tax, giving Texas the highest mixed beverage tax rate in the nation.

I'm not talking about taxing it...get real.

You're exactly right PK. It'll come in some sort of form or another but it'll come.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Smokers are not even 1/4 of the population in Dallas. If nobody wants to be around them, why don't bars just ban smoking themselves and get all the business.... while the smokers can all go to the smoking bar? Why is it the job of the government to tell us what LEGAL things we can smoke, eat, drink, etc?

Also, why did it take a constitutional amendment to ban drinking, but just a simple federal law to ban pot?

What part of the constitution lets the federal government ban people from growing a plant in their back yard and smoking it?

None of it makes any sense. Everyone give over complete control to the government! It's for the children!

Mark my words: at some point in the future in America, probably first in California, then the rest of us, it will be illegal to smoke a cigarette, while marijuana cigarettes will become "legalized"...

If Jedi took control of the country, you wouldnt be having these problems.

It would be a happy place, filled with flowery meadows and rainbow skies and, and rivers made of chocolate where the children danced and laughed and played with gumdrop smiles

That's what cracks me up about the "pot is less dangerous than cigarettes, lets make cigarettes illegal" group. About 5 years after they do that, what do you think the "think of the children" group will go after next? And since it was recently illegal, it'll be easy to recriminalize.

Just wait until we have socialized health care. It won't be "your right to smoke ends in public where I have to breathe it"..... it'll be "your right to smoke/drink/do drugs ends where I have to pay the medical bills".

Socialized healthcare is the first step to government control over everything you put in your body - drugs, drink, smoke, suppliments, vitamins, alternative healthcare, everything, and they'll get people to go along with it because everyone's tax money is paying for it.
