How many DT's do we have?

Post by kent dorfman »

I wonder because we are stockpiling DB's and OL. Are we moving any of our 13 or so OL's to DL? WTF?
Larry Brown? We have Larry Brown? Cool!

How many times do we have to ask this question, go to the recruiting section where it has been outlined many times....It is extremely, extremely rare for a OL to move to DL, most often it is the opposite.

Since when is a simple no ever a sufficient answer for a message board

Methinks it's the erstwhile 1TP.

I still like One Trick Frog. Or maybe One Tree Frog?

And you forgot...we've also got no fans.

Sorry, my bad. I had 3 cups of coffee and an oat bran muffin, I couldn't hold him in any longer.

As far as D-Line goes one to pay attention to is Marquis Frazier out of Navarro JC. He could make an immediate impact.

You can go back and read the recruiting board.

From what I remember we are at three and IF Frasier
(sp ) gains 20 to 30 pound we have 4.

265 is not a d-tackle.

We need help and many understand that.

I've counted now three Lineman recruits who have stated that they have been instructed by Jones to prepare for the offseason by losing 20-25 pounds or so-they are instructed to get in shape not gain weight by running 2-3 miles a day. "Weight" as opposed to size, physical strength and talent is really irrelevant to what they are trying to do. They want to get them in shape and build the core from there. SMU's lack of talent may require them to play early but in an ideal situation they wouldn't hit the field until 2011 when they might actually be physically ready to excell. When they hit the field when they are not physically ready to compete you get a team that loses 20 straight Division 1A games. The domination of SMU over the years in the trenches has been the result of 1) not recruiting quality size, physical strength and talent 2) playing too many players who were not physically ready to compete- for whatever reason. It has had very little to do with "weight"

Newest word is that after dabbling at DT, Jimmy Chase likely is headed back to the position at which he was recruited: offensive tackle.

(By the way, he's almost up to 270 pounds already, too - not bad for a guy who showed up at SMU at MAYBE 240 pounds.)
