mind boggling but we are just not competitive with a low level team like Northwestern.

When was the last time we beat a team from a "BCS" conference in basketball?

SMU finally played well for a patch during the second part of the second half and cut the 20 deficit in half.
17 turnovers in the first half and then a horrible first 8 minutes to start the second half doomed the Ponies.
Time to regroup and get ready for the Road Runners.

harp wont even look at the basket. hes not really a ball handler, passer or screener either. sure looks like 5 on 4 on our offensive end when he is on the floor.

I am disappointed that we looked so dang inept, against a bunch of non- athletic, noodle armed, pasty white boys, that played very poor themselves (per their radio crew).

How much of this garbage is a lack of talent (or junior / senior talent) and how much of this garbage is coaching? Why is it that SMU basketball and football always seem to have no upperclassmen on the team that contribute? Poor retention and a lack of juco recruiting is killing SMU athletics.

glad I missed this one. No surprises here. Typical.
11 player rotation. Faye gets 1 pt.
Dia gets 2 minutes.
Nyakundi looks like he's a starter. 12 pts
Harp 26 minutes, what does he see in him. Please explain this to me.

The players are uptight because they don't want to incur the wrath of Doherty. He calls the offensive and defensive sets everytime posession changes so you have a bunch of robots looking to see what he wants and then trying not to screw up. Its a bad recipe......
Harp is on the floor because he hustles and he gives the ball up quickly to avoid screwing up. In his case, giving the ball up quickly is a good thing. He should be used like Duke used Reddick - have him come off screens and put up a shot. He can't dribble and he is slow of foot so his value is in shooting the 3 although he needs to quit shooting such a flat shot and put some air under it.

Well he must be shooting these 3's in practice, because he is so afraid to shoot in the games, he won't even look up at the basket.

He isn't open enough to shoot it - he has a slow trigger and a flat shot. You need space - lots of space to get that shot off and not get it swatted into the cheap seats.
