Harp is on the floor because he hustles and he gives the ball up quickly to avoid screwing up. In his case, giving the ball up quickly is a good thing. He should be used like Duke used Reddick - have him come off screens and put up a shot. He can't dribble and he is slow of foot so his value is in shooting the 3 although he needs to quit shooting such a flat shot and put some air under it.

Nyakundi seems to be handling the wrath ok.

Dement seems good compared to this crap.

Harp and SMU should never, ever, ever, be used in the same sentence as Duke and Reddick. Nothing against Harp. I appreciate his hustle.

We definately have too many players getting too many minutes, no one can ever get into a flow. I think it is obvious that Doherty has everyone scared because when you screw up, you come out and if you are in the Doghouse, you barely play.

We need to pick 7-8 players and stick with them.

Malone last night was a perfect example, he musta done something to [deleted] Doherty off because he went from a starter to not even playing in the first half, a first half that featured 17 turnovers and 20 something points total. When he finally got in during the second half, you could tell that he said "F it" and he played loose, when he got the ball, he was driving to the basket, he was putting up shots, he was making big time dunks and he was making things happen. He had 9 points in 10 minutes of playing time.

Bamba looked pretty good as well, he still is not great on the low blocks, but his speed and conditioning are unmatched for a big man, he can run the floor for 40 minutes and we need to keep him involved.

Dear Doherty,

We have seen everyone on this team at great length, please stick with McCoy, Williams, Fall, Nykundi, Malone, Faye, Dia....let them work things out, let them play together, I think they could gel into a nice rotation. Bring in Harp, Walker, Haynes, Otis when needed, but not all at once and sparingly.

What is up with Dia-he is either hurt or he has totally regressed. Hopefully Doh is just getting this team ready for conference by seeing who fits in and where. If not I have no clue what he is doing with this team.

Get him involved early and he plays great. If he is not in the flow or misses early shots, he goes into a funk................

I'm wondering if Dia's back condition has rendered him as damaged goods, only a shell of his former self...not unlike Bhop after whatever happened to him between the 5A state championship game and when he set foot on campus.

The rotation of players is ridiculous. Anyone who has ever played competitive basketball knows that you need consistent uninterrupted minutes to get a good feel for the game. Even the Northwestern color guy mentioned Doherty's quick trigger. At one point in the second half, McCoy was pulled 20 seconds after being put in. Could easily explain our awful shooting and finishing near the basket. I don't understand the starter minutes given to Harp last night. At least last year he made some great passes, this year he looks more timid and barely looks at the hoop.

Not sure if Malone's mini-burst last night was frustration or not, but it was great to see him active. He could easily be the most valuable player from last years class. His combo attack (attack the rim, mid range jumper) could be great for a team that is struggling to put up points...
