That is Dean Orsak of the Engineering School in the background on the phone. Maybe he is calling down to Doh on the bench to tell him that the launch angle, air resistance, range, launch velocity, and terminal velocity that his players are employing in their 3 point attempts are all wrong.

Think of where this team would be without williams and mccoy....

so much for the "magnificent seven" recruiting class...I dont want to give up on these guys yet..but i think only 2 will make contributions to this team (nyakundi and malone). Dia shows flashes but completley disapears and doesnt seem to have the mental toughness...a player without mental toughness playing for Doh is not a good combo.

I agree with what was said previously in this thread..we need to find 5 core guys to play most of the minutes and have 2-3 rotating in off the bench.

IMO..the starting 5 playing most of the minutes should be:

1.Mccoy
2.Williams
3.Nyakundi
4.Otis
5.Bamba

Off the bench: Malone, Faye, Dia.. (walker should come in if one of the gaurds is in foul trouble or EXTREMLEY off one night) Mccoy and Williams should barley be leaivng the floor

The guy in the white T-shirt looks just like john ashcroft in his younger days.

If they choose to loose their anonymity they will claim their photo. I’m always very cautious when it comes to celebrities and photos.

You don't recognize Bob Seager?

Probably telling him that his team needs to reacy 'gender parity' so that there can be 'diversity' in basketball perspective.

I like McCoy and Williams on the offensive end, but from what I saw, both have slow feet defensively. They were losing the man battle agains their guards, which caused us to go zone, and then we gave up the threes.

I see a lot of issues with youth on this team. I don't think it is an athletic issue, which is diferent from the past (and a good sign). I see players out of position in a zone all over the place on defense. And on offense, I see guards who really haven't gotten a true feel of the offense. Of course, when you switch to a 4 small attack after a few games, that might happen.

Kids that are really good athletically don't play a lot of zone in high school. And if they do, they have such a tremendous athletic advantage, that they make up for bad positioning with it. They go through a learning process when they get into college. On a normal team, a good frosh can play solid minutes because the other guys are backing him up positionally and covering for mistakes. However, when ALL of your players are young, and you add on top of that three african players who are athletci but don't have a ton of bball experience, well, you are going to see mistakes made.

We have had two awful losses at home now. But I still think we have to be patient with the youth of this team. Fall is the only upper classmen, and he doesn't have enough bball experience to be a true leader. This think is going to take a little time to come together. I think you will see the minutes and the rotation chopped significantly by the UTEP game, as Doh picks a set rotation and allows players to play through mistakes in conference play. Until then, he has to coach them up as much as possible.

My evaluation of this team right now is that the close losses at Northwestern and at A&M (well, at least not blowouts) show that we have the athleticism to compete. The horrible home losses show that the team isn't there yet mentally on the defensive or offensive ends. I still expect us to keep games relatively close at the beginning of conference play, and then hit a stride in the second half of the conference season. That progress will carry over into next year, which will be a winning season.
