ROUNDBALL REWIND with Katie Remke Seal: Nothing better

Postby PonyPride » Thu Jan 01, 2009 9:08 pm

Katie Remke Seal brings us into 2009 with her thoughts on SMU's big victory at TCU Tuesday night. A lot of games throughout the course of the season have different elements of importance, but a victory over a rival like the Mustangs had Tuesday can do wonders for a team's confidence, and can be the catalyst for a wave of momentum heading into the conference games that begin at 2 p.m. Saturday against Tulsa.

Another good one, Katie - thanks for doing these.

Question: I'm with you on the idea that a win like we had Tuesday can be huge for a team's confidence (not to mention bragging rights in recruiting circles) and can be a big momentum boost going into conference games, but I worry about the "hangover" that a team might slip into after beating a rival like Frog High. You played for Coach Rompola - how do you (or Coach and her staff) fight through that tendency? Every coach deals with it differently ... I'm curious what you recall about Coach R and how she helps her team through it.
