Jessie Henderson Injured

Postby Stallion » Sun Nov 02, 2003 12:28 pm

apparently Henderson suffered some sort of knee injury a week ago and tried to play on it this week-however he was totally ineffective with 4 yards rushing on 9 carries against a great Denison team.

That's too bad, I am sure he is disappointed. I assume it is only a sprain since he was still playing on it to some degree. Any word?

no word as of yet in the latest Paris paper. BTW I didn't notice but Henderson also threw a 31 yard HB Option TD pass. Actually the paper said he also threw another 18 yard TD pass but could that be possible? Two in one game. Got a feeling the second one might be in error or Denison was seriously overplaying the run.

i understand it could be a possible mcl. that is the bad news. the good news is, the sulphur springs coaches cant tell a bit of difference in speed before and after the injury.

What I heard is that it is not a serious injury.

If he had ligament damage there would be a difference in speed -- trust me, I've torn 2 ACLs :pinch:

The Paris News reports that Henderson tried to play through his injury this week but carried the ball only 8 times for 28 yards before leaving in the 3rd Q in a 42-28 loss to Sulphur Springs. On a positive note SMU CB recruit Jonathan Lindley also scored a 19 yard TD for Sulphur Springs. Paris season comes to an end but Lindley and Sulphur Springs move on to the playoffs. As a matter of fact all SMU recruits are going to the playoffs but Henderson also including Mccrary of LaMarque the Ennis of the South, Chase from Irving, Lindley from Sulphur Springs and McKinney from DeCatur.
