The most telling part of the story is the compaints made by UT...seems that they complain too much. Everyone knows that UT players are wined and dined lavishly by rich alumns...how did a prospective freshman get an invite to the party in the first place? Please tell me Mac doesn't use alumns in his recruiting?
How do you know that's a violation of the NCAA code? And if your daughter believed this to be an issue, why it is only gossip and not made known to authorities? If they are, they are. But if you people are going to throw these accusations out there, you better be prepared for the onslaught of questions and scrutiny. And if you people don't want that and are told to shutup about it, then don't bother posting it because it becomes water on a rock.
It is not a violation
http://alumni.psu.edu/groups/volunteer/ncaa.pdf "Athletics Representatives may provide an enrolled student-athlete or an entire team with an occasional family meal. The occasional meal may be catered, must be provided in an individual's home, must be restricted to infrequent or special occasions. Transportation may be provided to the student-athlete(s) by the Athletics Representative ONLY if the meal function is at the home of that representative."
I never said it was a violation. Why are you so sensitive about any criticism of UT? When I was at SMU we would have never had anything good to say about them, never wear any of their logo's etc. I guess when your team is not relevant anymore things change...sad
