QB's

Postby PonyPatrol » Thu Jan 08, 2009 5:27 pm

Forecasting our offensive lineup a couple seasons down the road, we look to have some nice talent at WR, OL and w/ McNeal some real speed at RB. What surprises me is that with nearly two years of recruiting in the books (I understand JJ had little time last year), we haven't landed a bigtime talent at quarterback. This system is a signal caller's dream and smart kid with a nice arm could put himself on the national stage with some serious numbers. I think that still remains a missing piece to the O in this rebuilding process. I hope that BLM is the guy, but a real stud QB recruit/JC would sure expedite this learning period. Genuinely surprised more kids haven't been knocking on JJ's door....

A lot of kids (Craft, Nunez, etc.) have shown real interest before ending up elsewhere - kids who wouldn't have given SMU a second (or maybe even first) look before. He'll get one ... or more.

Padron & Petty would be an excellent QB recruiting class IMO.

I think some of the big time QB's are still waiting for signs of life on the hilltop. One season where we show some promise and QB's may give us a harder look. QB's want to see that they will have some help and it is not all on their shoulders like Willis.
